ASTRO Cost Basis Restriction Enhancements Being Temporarily Rolled Back

Incident Report for Orion Advisor Technology, LLC

Identified

The ASTRO Team recently deployed an enhancement to restrict positions missing cost basis within the optimizer, aiming to reduce the frequency of failed optimizations due to missing cost basis. However, we identified an issue where this restriction was not automatically removed once cost basis was applied to the position.

While we work on identifying the root cause and creating a resolution, we have decided to roll back the deployment to avoid errant restrictions being placed or kept. Consequently, optimizations where a position is missing cost basis will fail, as they did prior to the deployment. Advisors can work with SME Cost Basis to determine the reason and resolution for the missing cost basis. Alternatively, they can exclude the position in Portfolio Audit and re-sync the account to ASTRO, which should then optimize without reference to the excluded position.

This page will be updated once a resolution is deployed. Please contact SME-ASTRO@orion.com with any concerns, and thank you for your patience.
